When classically trained pianist, Preston Leatherman, discovered artists such as the Jackson 5, Alicia Keys and The Temptations, he dropped those strict, standard teachings and opted to teach himself the impassioned sound that is such a huge part of his writing style today. Along the way, he picked up guitar, drums, and other instruments. In 2007, Preston began performing and writing with Tony Oller and The Horizon in the Houston area. They quickly garnered a solid following and became well-known throughout theHouston music scene. As a solo artist, he went on to win the Texas Tech University Singer-Songwriter Competition. He further established himself when he performed at the Kerrville Folk Festival, aTexas music tradition that is the longest-running festival of its kind inNorth America. With his move toNashville,Preston signed with Lucente Entertainment and has a joint management deal with Chris Keaton of Chris Keaton Presents. Preston’s video “Dancing With An iPod In Public--Christmas Edition” was released November 28, 2011. On December 1st it went viral and as of January 20, 2012 has over 1,600,000 views on You Tube.
